Alli Fronzaglia, Founder Chick

Alli Fronzaglia is a hiking guide, naturalist, open space volunteer, and freelance writer. After 10 years of bouncing back and forth between Colorado and New England, she and her family have settled down in Boulder for the long haul. Hiking is Alli’s passion, but Bloody Marys and skee-ball run a close second. She writes to inspire others to hit the trails and connect with nature. A collection of her hiking and nature articles may be found here. Follow her on Instagram for more hiking photos (and other stuff). Alli is married with one daughter (a future hiker chick, no doubt).

Kari Armstrong, Operations Chick

Kari Armstrong is one of the original hiker chicks. Inspired by Alli’s dream to attempt the 5-Peak Traverse, this nature lover helped map and plan the BHC's first traverse in June 2014. She's been a critical planning partner ever since. A former librarian, Kari has a particular fondest for maps and always makes sure the chicks are on the right path. After a brief stint in CO after college, Kari spent 11 years in the mid-west before returning to Boulder with her husband and 2 daughters. Kari is naturally curious and loves meeting new people. Other organizations that receive Kari’s love: OSMP, BCNA Winter Raptor Survey, Flatirons Elementary School, and Little Free Libraries. When she isn’t outdoors hiking or birding, she can be found curled up with a good book, online researching her next trip, or dancing the night away at her favorite live music. (See: Lake Street Dive)
